FUTURE FORUM PAC ENDORSES FIVE YOUNG CANDIDATES
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Future Forum PAC, the political arm of House Democrats’ millennial and Gen Z engagement group, announced its initial round of candidate endorsements for the 2020 cycle. Future Forum PAC is supporting five candidates who, like its current members, represent a new generation of leaders in public service who are forward-thinking and well-positioned to advance the interests of young Americans across the country.
Future Forum PAC is endorsing and supporting:
- Dan Feehan, Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District, @DanielFeehan
- Christina Hale, Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, @HaleIndy
- Brynne Kennedy, California’s 4th Congressional District, @BrynneSpeak
- Sri Kulkarni, Texas’ 22nd Congressional District, @SriPKulkarni
- Gina Ortiz Jones, Texas’ 23rd Congressional District, @GinaOrtizJones
“Now more than ever, our country must continue building on the generational sea change we have established to keep our majority in the House and move this country in the right direction,” said Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), Future Forum Chair. “Whether it’s working to create a more just and equitable society, increasing youth engagement in our political process, or expanding access to our innovative economy, our endorsed candidates will be ready to rise to the challenge on day one. The vibrant energy and talent they will bring to Congress will serve their constituents well and ensure much-needed additional representation from young voices.”
“In 2018, we enabled a wave of new, energetic young Democrats into the House to make our majority and effect real, lasting change for working Americans,” said Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), Future Forum PAC Co-Chair. We’re going to do it again in 2020, and the candidates backed by Future Forum PAC will be at the vanguard. These leaders will be outspoken voices for every generation but especially for the young Americans with whom they have so much in common. They will help bring about the equality, justice, and opportunity our country so desperately needs.”
“As we have seen time and time again, younger Americans often bring about the greatest changes. We need more of their voices and their innovative ideas in the highest levels of government. We will continue to aggressively push for policies that promote the interests of the next generation of Americans, and I look forward to doing it with these five leaders in Congress next year,” said Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), Future Forum PAC Co-Chair.
“Young people in this country deserve a federal government that represents the strength and diversity of their generations,” said Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.), Future Forum PAC Co-Chair. “These five leaders help bring us closer to that – and are committed to advancing a Democratic agenda that addresses the needs of young Americans and builds on the progress made by the House majority this Congress. We’ve got to make our government – and our economy – work better for young Americans, and these leaders will help ensure that we take those necessary steps to do just that.”
Founded and launched in 2015, Future Forum is a coalition of young Democratic Members of Congress focused on issues and opportunities for millennial and Gen Z Americans. Now numbering 50 members, the group has visited more than 50 U.S. cities from coast to coast, listening to young Americans’ needs and concerns: from the student loan debt crisis to the decline of entrepreneurship to dwindling home ownership.
